Where donations go

Lumien is in pre-launch. We do not publish impact reports yet because the first projects are still under evaluation, but we want to be clear from the beginning about the kinds of causes we intend to fund and how we will report the use of resources.

Support for institutions (prayer + gift)

When you support a verified institution on Lumien, payment is processed by Stripe and funds go to that institution’s account (Stripe Connect), not to a personal Lumien bank account.

How your gift is split

  • Stripe processes the payment and funds go to the institution’s verified account (Stripe Connect).
  • A small share (8%) sustains the Lumien network: verification, moderation, support and platform improvements.
  • Card processing (approx. 2.9% + $0.30 USD) is deducted from your total gift; the remainder is split between the institution and Lumien.

Example with a $25 USD gift

From $25: approx. $1.03 processing, $21.97 to the institution and $2.00 to sustain the Lumien network (8%), before tax.

This is separate from “Donate to Lumien” on the general donate page, which remains on hold until proper fiscal sponsorship.

Use principles

  • Donations will be directed to concrete human causes, not abstract promises.
  • Projects must be able to document resource use and basic outcomes.
  • Lumien will publish quarterly reports once the first allocations begin.

Reports

Once Lumien begins channeling donations, this page will show supported projects, allocated amounts, reporting periods and available evidence. For now, the honest message is this: we are building the network before promising numbers.
